Relieving Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Week 3 already! I’m not quite sure how that happened. The term is well underway, and it has been fantastic to see classrooms settled, students engaged and routines becoming second nature.

One of the highlights over the past fortnight was seeing an increase in numbers at our latest P&C meeting. It was wonderful to have more parents and carers around the table, sharing ideas and showing their support for our school. Our P&C plays an important role in strengthening our community and supporting school initiatives and I’d strongly encourage anyone who is curious to come along to the next meeting. You don’t need experience. Just an interest in our school and our students. The more voices we have, the stronger we are.

As we look ahead, 2026 is guided by some clear and purposeful strategic directions. P&C Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 5.30pm.

Curriculum
This year we are focused on establishing school-wide common practice in explicit teaching so that every classroom has clarity, consistency and high-impact instruction. We are also strengthening our online programming processes to ensure planning is streamlined, collaborative and aligned. Alongside this, we are implementing THRIVE classroom structures to support consistency, engagement and learning success across the school for grades 4-6. The goal is simple. Clear teaching, strong routines and students who know exactly what success looks like.

High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE)
We are committed to expanding opportunities for students to extend their skills and talents. We will review and refine how we identify, support and enrich student potential. Every child deserves the opportunity to shine. Sometimes that means extra support and sometimes it means extra extension.

Wellbeing and Attendance
Our wellbeing journey continues with further learning and implementation of Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) practices across the school. We are also shifting our lens from attendance processes alone toward a stronger emphasis on student engagement, because when students feel connected and successful, attendance improves naturally. A key focus for 2026 is building resilience in our students, supporting them to persist through challenges and develop positive learning behaviours that will serve them well beyond primary school.

There is a strong sense of purpose across our school at the moment. Staff are working hard, students are rising to expectations, and our community continues to show its support. Thank you for partnering with us. It truly makes a difference.

Looking forward to what the rest of the term brings.

Warm regards

Nick Campbell
